OVERVIEW.
Mingle Game Commission - Inspired by Squid Game Season 2
I was commissioned to make the Mingle Game for Roblox, inspired by its depiction in Season 2 of Squid Game. I had to work on both the front-end and the back-end of the game, ensuring it was immersive, engaging, and functional.
Key Contributions:
Front-End Development
Designed and implemented user interfaces (UIs).
Added functional features like a push mechanic, allowing players to push each others by pressing a key during specific game phases.
Created dynamic visual and audio effects, such as flickering lights at the start of each round and audio cues for critical moments (e.g., when the carousel stops spinning).
Made every UIs mobile-friendly.
Back-End Development
Built the core game logic, including:
A 20-second intermission for player onboarding.
A spinning carousel that halts abruptly, prompting players to enter rooms with a specific number of participants.
Automatic elimination of players who fail to follow instructions, while others advance through five rounds.
Dynamic room assignments based on the number of remaining players.
Developed a round-tracking system and implemented revive mechanics, allowing eliminated players to return at the cost of Robux.
Integrated leaderboards to reward winners, including:
A "Top Wins" leaderboard in the spectator zone to highlight players with the most wins.
Titles displayed above the characters of the top 3 players.
Additional Enhancements:
Created interactive room mechanics, allowing players to open and close doors during rounds.
Synchronized the UI countdown with the one present in each room.
Synchronized audio assets for gameplay phases, including:
Spinning music.
Countdown music.
Sudden bass impacts when the carousel stops.
Implemented a congratulations system to celebrate survivors after all rounds are complete.
